UFC NEWS: Stephan Bonnar vs. Igor Pokrajac possibly coming to TUF 12 finale on December 4

By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief

Stephan Bonnar snapped a three fight losing streak in July when he finished Krzysztof Soszynski in the second round of their rematch at UFC 116, and he's now looking ahead to his next fight.

According to Bonnar's MMA Live co-host Jon Anik on Twitter, it looks like Bonnar's next bout will be coming this December against Igor Pokrajac at The Ultimate Fighter season 12 finale event at the Pearl at the Palms Casino and Resort.

Bonnar has been biding his time pulling double duty on WEC broadcasts and the weekly spot on MMA Live in Kenny Florian's absence, and now he'll attempt to put two wins together for the first time since 2007.

Bonnar was out for over a year after his victory over Eric Schafer at UFC 77, and dropped back to back decisions against Jon Jones and Mark Coleman in 2009. Matched up with Soszynski in February, the fight was stopped due to a cut in the third round and Soszynski was awarded the TKO victory. But because the cut was caused by an accidental headbutt, the two were matched back up and Bonnar redeemed himself with the UFC 116 victory.

Pokrajac picked up his first UFC win at the outset of August, submitting James Irvin in the first round at UFC on Versus 2. That came after back to back losses to Vladimir Matyushenko and James Te Huna. The TUF 12 finale airs live on Spike TV on December 4.

Penick's Analysis: It's not a bad matchup. Bonnar needs to put some wins together after that three fight streak, but it is good to see him more active after his lengthy injury layoff. As for Pokrajac, he's in desperate need of a win as well, as a 1-3 mark in the Octagon won't bode well for his UFC future. Bonnar's a lifer, regardless of what his record looks like, but Pokrajac won't have that luxury.
