ROUNDTABLE (pt. 1 of 2): Which fight on Thursday's WEC 51 card is front-runner for "Fight of the Night" - Matthew, Lee, Hyden, Hobaugh, Leet and Hansen

Which fight on the WEC 51 card is the front-runner for "Fight of the Night"?

SAM MATTHEW, MMATORCH COLUMNIST

Leonard Garcia vs. Mark Hominick. Two consistent fight of the night honorees battling it out. This is by far the closest and most exciting matchup on the card with Hominick fresh off a huge back-and-forth brawl victory over Yves Jabouin, and the always-entertaining Garcia looking to prove to himself and his fans that his undeserved win against fellow WEC 51 card competitor Chan Sung Jung wasn?t totally without merit.

ERIC LEE, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

I can definitely see Torres vs. Valencia as the Fight of the Night. Torres used to be regarded as one of the pound for pound best, but lately he hasn't been himself. Everyone is hoping to see him get back on top. Except Valencia. Charlie Valencia has zero quit in him will not go down easily. Should be a total war lasting at least two rounds.

FRANK HYDEN, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

I think Fight of the Night goes to Miguel Torres vs. Charlie Valencia, or possibly Leonard Garcia vs. Mark Hominick. I expect Torres and Valencia to wage war on each other and have an exciting fight. I think Torres gets back on track with a win, but it'll be a close one. I think there's three or four legitimate contenders for Fight of the Night, though. WEC 51 will be much better than UFC 119, that's for sure.

ERIC HOBAUGH, MMATORCH SPECIALIST

Jamie Varner vs. Donald Cerrone. Forget about the horribly stupid things Cerrone has said in the past few weeks. It is unfortunate he can?t just let his talking be done with his feet and fists. Having said that, I expect one of the best fights in the WEC in a long time. I do feel like the animosity between these two is genuine. So is their talent. Varner is a former champ with undiminished skills. Cerrone may be one fight away from a title shot. This one will be as good as any fight in recent memory in the WEC.

LARAMEY LEET, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

]I am sure that 90% of us will say Aldo vs. Manny, but Cerrone vs. Varner will be a hell of a fight too. That is if Varner does not run around the cage like he did last time. But if Varner and Cerrone go toe to toe it could quite possible be fight of the year. Now Aldo and Manny will be very interesting. We get to see what happens when Aldo goes against a wrestler. If Manny tries to stand with Aldo the fight will not last long, but if Manny goes to his wrestling it could be a boring fight. So lets hope the champ has been practicing his sprawls and takedown defense so we can see a great fight.

RICH HANSEN, MMATORCH COLUMNIST

The title fight between Aldo and Gamburyan, hands down. I didn't get to see Garcia-Jung live as I was out of town that weekend, and have only seen it on my laptop (shhhh), so maybe that has blunted some of the impact of the fight, which would explain why I'm not riding their bandwagons like most fans are right now. So that rules both their fights off of this list. Torres vs. Valencia is intriguing, but I sure would like to see Valencia finish a fight once in a blue moon (he'll never be champion, Frank). And while I really want to see Varner vs. Cerrone again, it has a few things going against it. 1.) Cerrone's not that good. 2.) Varner's better than Cerrone. 3.) I didn't get worked up and full of Varner-rage like the rest of the internet did after their first fight. 4.) WEC LWs never get to fight against the consensus best LWs in the world, so if Zuffa doesn't want me to see them fight against the best, then I refuse to get overly intrigued in their LW division (sans Pettis, because of the Milwaukee thing, of course). So, as a result, I am most interested in seeing the top two fighters at 145 go toe to toe.
