Four more fights have been officially added to the WEC's November 11 card in Las Vegas, including a previously unreported bout between Mackens Semerzier and Cub Swanson.
The organization added that fight, along with a main card fight in Eddie Wineland vs. Damacio Page bout, and preliminary card bouts in Zack Micklewright vs. Dustin Poirier and Clint Godfrey vs. Michael McDonald.
Page has been out of action for a year due to injuries, but has won four of his last five fights, including a 3-1 mark in the WEC. Wineland has won three straight, most recently taking out Will Campuzano with strikes in the second round at WEC 49 in June.
Micklewright and Poirier are both looking to bounce back from their first career losses, both of which were suffered last month at WEC 50. Micklewright was knocked out by Bart Palaszewski, while Poirier was defeated by Danny Castillo in a unanimous decision.
McDonald makes his WEC debut against Godfrey, who lost his debut in the organization but holds an 11-2 record.
After shocking Wagnney Fabiano with a triangle choke in his WEC debut, Mackens Semerzier has since lost back to back fights and hopes to avoid a third straight. He lost to Javier Vasquez by submission in his last fight at WEC 50.
Swanson, meanwhile, has lost 2 of his last three fights, the most recent of which came against Chad Mendes at WEC 50 in a fight where he was kept on his back and continually taken down.
WEC 52 takes place from The Pearl at the Palms Casino and Resort on November 11, headlined by a bantamweight bout between Urijah Faber and Takeya Mizugaki.
Penick's Analysis: The WEC has another good card lined up here, and all of these matchups should provide some good action. Semerzier-Swanson is an especially important fight for both guys, because a loss may mean their exit from the organization. But Wineland vs. Page is an excellent main card fight, and it will be good to see Page back in action after a lengthy absence.
