The show opens with Georges St. Pierre saying that he won't corner either Jonathan Brookins or Kyle Watson in their fight. They have to pick their own cornermen. Kyle says that he didn't start training until college. He was a coach in Matt Hughes' gym. He had to choose between advancement in his job or pursuing his MMA career. Kyle's rocking a weird fu-manchu. Kyle and Jonathan know each other's games very well.

Josh Koscheck is having his team in the sauna. Some of the guys complain about not having much to do now. Marc Stevens says that he feels let down with the coaching. Members of Team Koscheck complain about Team GSP getting more coaching. Marc imitates Koscheck saying that he hasn't been training them enough. Marc is continuing his imitation as Koscheck walks in. Koscheck isn't exactly pleased with his imitation.

Koscheck starts drinking with his team. He says that his team needs to look inward more. The next morning, Jonathan is outside by himself. He's wanting to be alone, but the house is crawling with dudes. He's trying to center himself. He really seems to be the one who's taking the most advantage of his time in the house. Jonathan talks some about how he and Kyle know each other. Jonathan says he wants to be the faster and smarter fighter.

Some of the guys are complaining about Nam Phan, saying he's two-faced. Nam is outside talking with Jonathan and asking him questions about Michael Johnson, Nam's upcoming opponent. Later, Nam is being called out by some of the guys about his stuff. They say he doesn't have the balls to say something to someone's face. Nam says he's an easy target.

Jonathan and Kyle both make weight with no problem. Dana White says Jonathan has the advantage in the stand-up and Kyle on the ground. On the day of the fight, both guys are preparing themselves mentally for what they're about to do.

FIGHT- Kyle Watson vs. Jonathan Brookins
The heights are equal, and Jonathan has a 2 inch reach advantage. Steve Mazzagatti is the referee.

ROUND 1- Kyle starts with a nice legkick. They both dodge and weave, testing the range. They engage in a flurry. Jonathan gets a takedown and is on top. Kyle battles to his feet. They're clinched on the cage. They separate. Kyle's throwing some nice combos. Jonathan gets another takedown. They seem to be stalemating on the ground, with neither able to gain an advantage. Jonathan starts to swing around to Kyle's back, but Kyle avoids. Jonathan starts teeing off on Kyle as the round ends.

ROUND 2- They start tentative before Jonathan gets a takedown. Again, not much is happening on the ground. Jonathan is getting some good shots in, but Kyle is preventing too much damage. Kyle pushes Jonathan away and tries to get up, but Jonathan rushes back in and gets Kyle's back. Well, sort of, Jonathan has half of Kyle's back as they're pushed against the fence. Jonathan is starting to rain blows down on Kyle. Jonathan is back to full guard now. Kyle gets back to his feet as the round ends.

ROUND 3- Kyle rushes Jonathan, but gets pushed into the cage. Kyle throws some knees to the body before they separate. Jonathan gets another takedown. Another stalemate ensues. Kyle does get to his feet, though Jonathan is still draped on him. Kyle is punching Jonathan in the head. Jonathan gets another takedown. This fight is kind of suckish. They must be very evenly matched because neither guy can do much. Jonathan is well on his way to a decision victory, Kyle seems resigned to that fact. Jonathan starts to take Kyle's back as the fight ends.

WINNER- Jonathan Brookins by Decision

Not a highlight reel fight by any means, but they seemed very closely matched. GSP talks with Kyle after the fight. Kyle talks a bit with Dana, saying that he hopes there's a place in the UFC for him.

Some of the guys in the house are talking about how Nam spends over an hour in the shower each night. They discuss a plan to find out what he's doing by busting in. They peek in, and Nam is naked in the shower. They all start laughing like little girls at a slumber party. Nice, how adult.

GSP is talking with Michael Johnson about how he can beat Nam. Michael doesn't seem impressed at all by Nam. That's not a good mindset to have, you shouldn't underestimate guys. Michael is a great athlete. Guys are still making jokes about Nam jacking in the shower. Like they don't all do that. Nam wants the guys to chill some with the jokes so he can concentrate on his fight. Nam is in the gym by himself trying to focus on his fight.

Nam is training hard with his coaches. Nam is confidant in himself. He's saying the usual stuff. Nam then compares himself to a Honda Civic that's good on gas but not flashy. Josh Koscheck wants Nam to win very badly so his team can be represented in the Finals. Both guys make weight no problem. Dana White thinks that Nam is very well-rounded and has the edge in the fight. Glen Davis from the Boston Celtics comes in for a quick visit.

FIGHT- Nam Phan vs. Michael Johnson
Michael is 5 inches taller and has a 2 inch reach advantage. Josh Rosenthal is the referee.

ROUND 1- Nam throws kicks, Michael throws punches. Michael gets a takdown, but Nam gets back up. Michael gets another takedown. Nam gets up again. Nam drops Michael with a shot, but Michael is back up. Nam throws Michael to the ground after a takedown attempt. Nam is pushing forward. Michael gets another takedown. Nam gets up. They trade punches. Nam with a body blow. Nam stuffs a Michael takedown, but eats a shot for his effort. Michael almost gets a takedown, but the fence is in the way. Michael is moving forward and punishing Nam. Nam is bleeding pretty well from his eyebrow. Nam is starting to comeback some. I think Michael won the round with those takedowns.

ROUND 2- They start trading shots early. Michael has Nam backing up. Nam stuffs a Michael takedown. Michael is pushing forward. Nam lands a good bodyshot. They're clinched against the cage. They separate. Michael tries for a takedown, but Nam lands on top. They get up. They're both swinging wildly. Michael covers up a bodyshot try by Nam. Nam with another bodyshot. They clinch on the cage, but separate quickly. Michael is working his stand-up now. Michael is pushing forward. It was close, but I'd give that round to Nam there.

ROUND 3- Michael pushes forward, even though he's clearly exhausted. Michael tries for a takedown, but Nam leaps to the ground, looking for a submission. Michael is on top, but Nam hits some good elbows. Nam gets up. They clinch before separating. They clinch again. Michael works hard for a takedown and gets it, but Nam gets right up. In the center of the cage, they engage. Micheal pushes Nam back into the cage, trying for another takedown. They separate. Michael starts unloading on Nam. The round ends. I think Michael won that round by a tiny margin, and the decision.

Koscheck and Dana discuss their thoughts on what happened during the fight. It's a split decision.

WINNER- Michael Johnson by Split Decision

Dana cursed Nam by picking him to win. Seriously, though, that was a razor-close fight. Koscheck takes full blame for not winning this competition. He doesn't blame his team or other coaches, just himself. That's a very cool thing to hear from him. Jonathan and Michael face off in the center of the cage.

The Michael Johnson vs. Nam Phan fight was a really good fight. Both guys poured everything they had into the fight, and that was awesome to see. The fight between Jonathan Brookins and Kyle Watson wasn't nearly as good or exciting, but not every fight can be great, I suppose. They were so evenly matched it was a close fight.

The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale is this Saturday, December 4.
